READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NETWORK.
There are some 40,000+ former volunteers
from Catholic-based volunteer programs out there. What better
way to incorporate your volunteer experience than to establish contact
with other former volunteers? The Pallotti Center invites you to
become part of our Network of Former Volunteers. Our purpose for
setting up this Network is to provide former missioners and volunteers
with an easier method of sharing information and support for one
another.
Our hope is that through this Network, you can lend and
obtain assistance in relocating to a new area, be linked to social
gatherings, discussion or prayer groups, and connect with employment leads
and contacts.
Part of our mission at the Pallotti Centers is to support volunteers and
missioners after their term of service. We are happy to introduce
this Network as a way to serve you. Whether you have just finished
your term of service or you have been a former volunteer for years, this
Network can assist you in linking with other former volunteers who live in
your area, served where you served, work in your field, or share similar
interests. Here's how to get
involved:
Joining the network: Please read the following few paragraphs of important
information; then, click on the link to complete the online Network form. Or,
email us at
formervolunteer@pallotticenter.org
if you'd prefer that we send you a hard copy form. (Please
feel free to reproduce the form for other former volunteers or direct them to
our online form.) You can also call us at 1-877-VOL-LINK should you need
further assistance.
Important: You
will notice that on the form we also ask for an "online signature."
We do this for two
reasons: the first to grant us permission to include you in the Network, and
second to promise that you will not use the names and other information provided
through this Network for solicitation of funds or advertising. Conversely, we
pledge to use the list only to help former volunteers and never for fundraising
or for supporting other causes, however valuable in themselves.
Getting information:
Once
we receive the completed form from you, we will add you to our Network of
Former Volunteers listserv.
You will receive an email from Yahoo! Groups (who operates the listserv)
confirming your subscription. To
get started, all you have to do is email the listserv with your question,
suggestion, event, or just to introduce yourself to the group. Then,
you can easily get connected with other former volunteers who are living
in your area, working in your field, or share other common threads with
you. **Important: If you
relocate, please be sure to email
us with your new information!
We encourage you to keep in touch with your volunteer
program in future years. They can be a wonderful support for you by helping
you stay in touch with volunteer alumni from your program, and they’ll want to
know how you’re doing too!
You share something very special with other formers. Meeting and networking among formers could be a great way to
incorporate your volunteer experience into your post-volunteer life.
